Days
1 - Eco Addo
Arrive at Port Elizabeth and drive to Addo,
the centre of the malaria-free, Big 5 game reserves of
the Eastern Cape. Check in to the Protea
Hotel Addo.
Day 2 - Eco Addo
Take time to rest and recover from your hectic lifestyle
before you head on down the coast: enjoy the fresh mountain
air of the Zuurberg or take a game drive in the Addo
Elephant National Park. Overnight at the Protea
Hotel Addo.
Day 3 - Adventure Tsitsikamma
Make an early start, and allow about 3 hours for the
drive from Addo to Tsitsikamma, for a day of adrenaline
with Storm’s River – the choice is yours: you can explore
the tree tops, float down a tranquil river or enjoy
a wild ride into the Storms River mouth.
We’ll arrange your overnight accommodation at Protea
Hotel Knysna Quays or Protea
Hotel Landmark Lodge Knysna : just let us know where
you’d prefer to stay.
Day 4 - Bustling Knysna
Spend the day in and around Knysna - shopping Mecca
of the Garden Route and an important tourist centre.
Take the day to explore the quaint shops and art galleries,
visit Featherbed
Nature Reserve or take a nostalgic train journey
to George on the Outeniqua Choo-Tjoe(we suggest you
take a one-way ticket and return to Knysna by road shuttle).
Overnight again in your choice of either Knysna or Plettenburg
Bay.
Day 5 - Rugged Oudtshoorn
Make an early start and drive over the Outeniqua Mountains
on the N12. Spend the day exploring Oudtshoorn (75 minutes)
and the Klein Karoo. May we suggest a visit to the Cango
Caves and a tour of Highgate ostrich show farm?
Late afternoon take the scenic Robinson’s Pass to Mossel
Bay for a romantic sunset cruise on Mossel Bay’s Famous
Romonza:
if you’re here between July and September, you’ll probably
spot a pod of whales! Book in at the Protea
Hotel Mossel Bay and enjoy dinner at the Café
Gannet.
Day 6 - Wild Mossel Bay
A day to spend on the ocean!
Meet the Wild Sharks of Mossel Bay with Shark
Africa: – a safe, thrilling, wild cage diving experience.
Get up-close and personal with the Great White Sharks.
Enjoy dinner at the Café
Gannet and overnight at the Protea
Hotel Mossel Bay.
Day 7 - Wild Mossel Bay
After a leisurely breakfast, explore the Old
Post Office Tree Square complex – the Wild Culture
of the Dias Museum.
There’s a shell museum and aquarium, a cultural annex,
a maritime museum with a life-size replica of the first
European ship that landed on these shores, an ethno-botanical
garden, a braille trail and the remarkable Post Office
Tree itself. Take a drive through to Great Brak River
for lunch and a Wild Game Drive to experience a working
game farm where the animals are free to roam the plains
at Botlierskop
Game Farm & Restaurant. Wine and dine in the Café
Gannet and overnight at the Protea
Hotel Mossel Bay.
Day 8 - Quaint Arniston
If you want to explore the coastal road, we suggest
you start driving by mid-morning. On the way, stop at
the old Gourits River Bridge for a leap into the unknown
with Face Adrenalin:
face your fear and overcome it by bungy jumping or bridge
swinging with the pioneers of this extreme sport in
South Africa. Visit Malagas (where you’ll cross the
Breede River by pont – the last man-drawn pont in Africa)
and the Southern tip of Africa at Cape Agulhas (we heartily
recommend lunch at the Agulhas Lighthouse restaurant).
The picturesque village of Arniston is a must for
lovers of the sea: the endless white beaches are renowned
for their rare and beautiful shells and their excellent
whale watching. Your overnight destination at Waenhuiskrans/Arniston:
is the Arniston
Hotel.
Day 9 - The Charming Winelands
Drive via Bredasdorp and Caledon to Stellenbosch (3
hours) to visit the winelands of Stellenbosch, Paarl
& Franschhoek (if you like their fine products, most
of the local winemakers will arrange to deliver your
purchases to your home – wherever that may be!).
We’ll arrange your overnight accommodation in the
Winelands from
our list of preferred hotels and guest houses: just
let us know where you’d prefer to stay: Stellenbosch,
Paarl or Franschhoek
Day 10 - Scenic Cape Town
Spend the day exploring the winelands
(may we recommend a traditional South African lunch
under the oaks at Spier
Estate?) before setting out on the short, half hour’s
drive from Stellenbosch to the centre of Cape Town,
where you’ll overnight at Ocean View House.
Day 11 - Scenic Cape Town
A day to explore South Africa’s most beautiful city.
We recommend a cableway ride to the top of Table
Mountain, a visit to one of Cape Town’s many excellent
shopping malls,
a walk around Kirstenbosch
– our National Botanical Gardens – or, perhaps, a drive
to the National Park at Cape Point, returning via Simonstown
and Muizenberg.

Day 12 - Scenic Cape Town
Depart Cape Town.
